The trades continue...

Joe Blanton was sent to the Phillies for prospects Adrian Cardenas, Josh Outman, and Matthew Spencer.

Oakland has added a few more top prospects to their system (Cardenas was 2nd in the Phillies system, and Outman was fourth).

San Diego has sent Tony Clark back to Arizona for prospect Evan Scribner. Paul DePodesta has a scouting report of Scribner here.

- The Nationals signed their second round pick; they still haven't gotten deals done with their 1st and 3rd-5th picks.
- Justin Duchscherer could be the next pitcher on the way out of Oakland; he'd rather stay and sign an extension.
- The Yankees are close to a deal with Richie Sexson.
- Francisco Liranio is upset with the Twins for keeping him in Triple A as long as he's been there this year.
- The Cubs are entering the Brian Fuentes market and may look for a bench hitter.
- Boston has lured football prospect and first round pick Casey Kelly from his commitment to Tennessee; he'll start as a shortstop but will probably end up as a pitcher.
